Assessment Only Route To QTS

Helping schools to comply with the Children's Wellbeing and Schools Act 2026

The Challenge

From September 2027, teachers in primary and secondary academies will be required to hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS), creating an urgent need for schools to review their workforce and identify staff who may require a route to qualification.

The Solution

Bromley Schools' Collegiate's Assessment Only Route provides an efficient pathway to QTS for experienced teachers who already meet the Teachers' Standards. Rather than undertaking a full teacher training programme, candidates demonstrate the impact of their existing practice through a focused assessment process.

The Benefits
  • Achieve QTS through an intensive assessment process
  • Support compliance with future legislative requirements
  • Retain experienced and effective teachers
  • Suitable for overseas-trained and independent sector teachers
  • School-centred and employment-based
  • Delivered by a DfE-approved provider
About us

Choose the Assessment Only Route to QTS offered by Bromley Schools’ Collegiate. Based in Hayes, Bromley, we are an Assessment Only provider of QTS approved by the Department for Education.

This is an intensive route to achieving QTS for staff who are teaching within an educational setting as unqualified teachers or instructors with substantive timetables.

Enquiries are welcome from sponsoring schools that have staff who they would like to support through this intensive process. There is a differential charging fee (outlined below) based on where the school is to reflect the additional travel time for assessors:

Band 1– Bromley, Bexley, Greenwich, Lewisham, Croydon , £2750

Band 2 – Kent, Sussex, Southwark, Lambeth, Wandsworth, Surrey, £3000
