EYTS to QTS Conversion Course
At Bromley Schools’ Collegiate, we have developed a conversion course for holders of Early Years Teacher Status (EYTS) so they can gain Qualified Teacher Status.
This would then enable you to become an Early Years professional, covering the 0 to 7 year old age range with both EYTS and QTS.
The entry requirements for this programme are the same as for an EYTS programme:
The programme will be delivered in two phases.
Phase 1 (Training phase)
This training will provide additional training to bridge the gaps between the EYTS standards and QTS and will be delivered by trainers from our Outstanding Primary ITT programme.
This part of the programme will be delivered as a 4 day intensive programme running at our training centre in Chislehurst, Kent from 22nd to 25th October 2018.
The cost of this 4 day programme is £750 payable in advance before the start of the programme.
Phase 2 (Assessment phase)
You will progress on to an Assessment Only programme to enable you to demonstrate that you can meet the requirements for QTS over a consecutive three month period. This will involve developing a portfolio of evidence and being observed undertaking whole class teaching by an external assessor.
To be ready for this part of the process, you must have at least 2 years of whole class teaching experience in the 3-7 year old age range and have demonstrable evidence of confidence and competence to teach in nursery, reception, year 1 and year 2.
The minimum amount of teaching experience in each year group must be at least 25 days.
We are happy to discuss individual needs and queries either via email or over the telephone.
To support candidates for this programme, we will be supplying an information pack so that participants and employers are aware of how the different phases of the programme link together.
