Offering Complete ECT Induction Support

Bromley Schools’ Collegiate are working in partnership with the Thames South Teaching School Hub to offer an ECT appropriate body service.

The appointment of an Appropriate Body is a statutory requirement for the induction period of ECTs and the Appropriate Body makes the final decision as to whether an ECT has met the Teachers’ Standards on the recommendation of the Headteacher/Principal.

Our service is built around the three main responsibilities of administration, quality assurance and supporting & monitoring.

It is the responsibility of schools to ensure that they commit appropriate resources to the induction of ECTs and comply with the Induction regulations.

It is the responsibility of the Appropriate Body to ensure quality of this induction provision through the checking of the quality of the reports, ensuring that the statutory regulations are compiled with and to update the central record with the outcomes of the Induction process.

We have moved over to using the ECT Manager online reporting portal, so if you would like to work with us to support your Early Career Teachers through their Induction, please get in touch.
