Subject Enhancement, Extension & Booster courses
Some subject knowledge enhancement courses are 6 months in length and aimed at potential secondary trainees in chemistry, maths or physics who do not have the full subject knowledge required but do possess some post A level or professional experience in these subjects.
Three month Modern Language Extension courses are aimed at graduates with one foreign language but little or no French or German.
Participants on enhancement or extension courses may be paid a bursary and are expected to immediately take a secondary teacher training course in the relevant subject.
Subject booster courses are two-week courses aimed to boost trainees' subject knowledge and ensure that they are well prepared for the challenges of the classroom. They are offered in a range of secondary subjects.
